The Hermitage . The Benois Madonna by Leonardo da Vinci
The Hermitage contains two paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, the 1478 Benois Madonna
(Madonna with a Flower - shown out of focus above) and the 1480's Litta Madonna.
The Benois Madonna was acquired by the Hermitage early in the twentieth century from
the collection the Russian architect Leonty Benois.
Cameras are permitted in most Russian museums with the payment of a small fee for
a camera license.
