Ocaso
Sunset

We, who exist
on this celestial orb
in a minor part of a small galaxy,
do not collectively agree
on many things.
However, when asked
to define an event of beauty
common to that short temporal standard
we measure our lives by,
we, almost all, say
"Sunset."

That interplay
of light and atmosphere
at day's death
gives birth to
a beauty that speaks
through our eyes
to our heart.

And, if our heart has once been
touched by love,
sunsets are never, ever
the same again.
They are richer,
and colored with much,
much more passion.
