| When I was growing up some folks still used mules to plow and "turn"
black dirt for planting. To some of my college classmates mule drawn plows and cotton
fields were an exotic sight. By comparison, when I thought of exotic agricultural
sights, I thought of rice paddies and water buffalo. So, when we traveled from Guilin
to the village of Lonshan and drove along flooded rice fields with grazing water
buffalo, this was a picture I had to take. |
