From the top of the Cape May Point Lighthouse
L&B could look north and see the town of Cape May
and the surf and sand of New Jersey's southern most beach. Lake Lily, just across
the dunes from the beach, and the Nature Trails of the Point are excellent for bird
watching.
But better yet, just lying on the beach and listening to the surf. At least until
an over achiever of a wave decided to rush a substantial way upon the beach and wet
L&B's blanket.
The structure now stranding in the surf is an abandoned coastal defense gun emplacement
built in 1941.
Looking south it is hard to tell where Delaware Bay
ends and the Atlantic Ocean begins; but at this point, they both harmonize to the
same rhythm of waves beating shore. |
